easychair for eccentric people
Jockey Full of Bourbon is an eccentric armchair in wood, small and characterised by intarsia, many shades of colour and bizarre accessories. It’s a tribute to Carlo Bugatti and the futurist furniture of Balla and Depero. The name comes from the Tom Waits song that opens Jim Jarmusch’s film Down by Law. Built in beech it is partly veneered in walnut root and lacquered in red and yellow. The legs are reinforced with four sheet-iron sheaths, mirror chrome-plated. The seat, shaped like a wing section, is upholstered with a patchwork of macramé embroidery and silk fringes. The tip-up backrest, in transparent Perspex, is laser perforated to produce, as logo, the name of the armchair. The upper, structural part is an element in six circular pieces, walnut veneered and fixed together by a crosspiece in brass, turned on the lathe and chrome-plated, with two silk tassels at the extremities.
